SATIRE—Any Forester knows that 12 p.m. in the Caf is not for the weak. Students claw their way through crowds to score a precious booth or to get in line first at Ruben’s station.
But spring has sprung and prospective students visit campus more and more each week, making the environment utterly ruthless. What better way to introduce these visitors to the true Forester experience than to fight them over the last piece of garlic bread?
The innocent high school juniors who recently inhabited half of the dining area with loaded plates only make the 12 p.m. rush more fun. With just a handful of tables left to support the entire student body, current students are given the chance to strategize how to sit down during what is oftentimes their only break in the day. Lunch is unpredictable in this way, making each day a new adventure.
Spending a good 10 minutes surveying the dining area is enough to make any student even
hungrier. The anticipation of waiting behind visiting students who leisurely take in their options in line only make the first bite taste better. Crammed around a few tables, students get to enjoy a satisfactory meal after all of their hard work.
